MJ/SCM New Series
Taking into account the rapid progree of IT, we publish ONLINE Mathematica Japonica (M.J.) as well as in print as from January 2001. In connection with this, and as the publication of SCM has been already dual, online and in print, we unify M.J. and SCM and publlish a journal named
Scientiae Mathematicae Japonicae (SCMJ)
as M.J./SCM
21stCentury New Series.
For newly accepted papers, they will be published as follows in the interim of 2000.
1) In 2000, M.J. and SCM will be published as scheduled, total 1000 pages for M.J. (print) and 500 pages for SCM (online and print). As of April 20, 2000, we have enough backlog for M.J., however, there is room of about 250 pages in SCM. This means that if authors choose SCM, their papers will be published in SCM in 2000 (maximum 250 pages).
2) After 500 pages of SCM(total) are published on the Web this year, we will publish SCMJ online in advance of the publication of the printed edition in 2001. The first printed edition of SCMJ will be published in January 2001 as Vol.53, No.1, whole number 205. The annual pages of SCMJ will be 1200.
3) The page charges required and the offprints we are sending to the authors are the same in 2000 as already informed, however, they will be changed as from January 2001 as are shown in the Chart of the inside of the back cover.
JAMS WWW Membership
In 2000 (January to December) only, we invite JAMS WWW members in addition to the standard JAMS members.
1) Membership Dues are:\8,000(US$ 60)
for regular members and \4,000(US$ 30)
for aged (70 years old or over) or student members,
US$30 for members in developing countries, US$20 for agedor student members in developing countries.
2) The online edition of SCM and the online SCMJ (for the papers which will be pre-published in 2000 on the Web) will be distributed.
3) The printed edition of SCM (Vol.3, No.1--3) will be distributed.
Comparing JAMS WWW membership to the standard JAMS membership, the printed journal distributed is different, however, we regard JAMS WWW members as JAMS members. We send the News Letters, and the privileges for members are also applicable.
JAMS Membership Dues from 2001
We reduce the JAMS memership dues as from 2001 and the printed journal (bounded) will not be distributed to the members, free of charge. Instead, we give User Name and Password to each member so that he/she can view or print out the full text of the papers published in SCMJ from our Web site (http://www.jams.or.jp).
1) The annual dues will be: \8,000(US$60) for ordinary members,
\4,000(US$30) for aged (70 years old or over) or student members, US$30 for members in developing countries, US$20 for aged (70 years old or over) or student members in developing countries.
2) Each member is allocated User Name and Password to freely view or print out the papers published in SCMJ.
